Blog Post 10 - Georgia Culp

The "Mr. Goodbar" dress. Inspired by my textile class, I decided to weave the wrappers. I cut each strip one inch. However, to save on time and money, I decided to use the large wrappers towards the back of the bodice. The skirt however is all weaved. I wish I could have excuted the garment better. My sewing skills have come along way since my first day in Contruction Class I. I never thought I would be cabable of making a unconventional outfit, but I did it and pretty darn proud.

Cocoa Couture Fashion Show has changed my life.  It gave me a new perspective of art and how to express your creativity in many different ways.  At first it was a little scary because I did not know how to start, but after I learned, nobody could stop me.  As you can see in the picture the dress is almost ready.  It needs a few details that today will be done.  This dress took me hours and hours, to tell you more yesterday I slept only three hours and today I haven’t sleep because I want to get everything done.  However I’m always having in my mind that every sacrifice has its own prize at the end.

 This is my final dress ready for the wrappers!  Hooray... 

In this picture you can notice how packed is my fridge with all the chocolate! I really don't know what I am going to do with them.  

Any suggestions?

Here we have the skirt made of Kit Kat wrappers and it will have a few Crunch Bar details.  Is very very close to be ready, only a few more details.

Oh Lord this is my favorite part!  This is the tunic which is a piece made of Crunch bar and I also add a little of sparkle by adding a gold shiny fabric inside. It took about 5 boxes of Crunch.

Blog Post 10 Whitney Hopkins

Week 10 has arrived and the fashion show is next week, I can't believe it! Everything came so fast. I made my dress out of Reeses and M&M wrappers. I was very excited with the progress that came. Although I struggled with over all vision at first, I am very pleased with the outcome. I didn't want to hide the wrappers and make them look like something they werent. I want people to go wow that is all wrappers, so creative! My favorite part of my outfit is the bangle covered in the brown cups and gold foil and the bustle of large candy bags. The bustle gives the dress so much life. I hope you guys are pleased with my dress.

Holly M. Dress

I completely changed the idea of my dress. I have created a strapless red dress and covered the skirt of the dress in twix wrappers. The top f the dress will remain red. Where you see the empty spot on the dress is where i am still in the process of sewing down the twix wrappers and i will be adding a bow to the dress that will drape over the twix wrappers.

Blog 10 Gyslaine

This dress is my favorite project I have done in school because I need to adjust with all the problems it came with the dress. In a way is what a Fashion Designer is all about adjust will the costumers. All the tootsie rolls are sewn on the bodice already, it weights around 4 pounds. I am finishing glueing the rinestones to the Rafaello flowers and finishing the veil. I can`t wait to show every one tomorrow.

After over 200 hours of labor, I am so happy that my dress is done and you could see it on my previous posts. At the moment I am working on all the accessories that I had in mind in order to complete this look. Her shoes will be gold. She will be wearing big earrings made of sea shells and to finish her look I am making a clutch purse. Here are the pictures of my final progress.

ANTHROPOLOGIE

Anthropologie Store is AMAZING!!! I am so impress of how Anthropologie came to life and how is been growing around the world for its famous mission and vision.  Antropolige came from the family of Urban Outfitters.  Anthropologie is a unique store where most of the products are old and used but with a little bit of magic and creativity everything comes to life and looks brand new.  Anthropologie clothing items are expensive, but is because you are paying for uniqueness and quality.

Anthropologie was founded in 1992 by a small group of innovators with a common goal: to “inspire the imagination” (“About Us”). After the brand’s introduction, new ideas were inspired through extensive travel and exploration. They refer to their customers as their “soul mates” (“About Us”) and deep and spiritual bond acts as a catalyst for motivating the designers and everyone involved in continuing the brand’s success.

Anthropologie’s success has come from years of studying customer behaviors and lifestyles but the result is not a brand that is calculated and conformist. It is a brand that understands their sense of self and their unique placement in the retail world. Within the confines of who they are as a brand, they have found movement and possibility and opportunity for the future (“About Us”).

I am looking forward to find a place like this one to make it my permanent place of work.  I can't image myself working with other's people creativity combine with mine.  I love to work with other people and to enjoy what I am doing and that is what Anthropologie is about.  Have Fun, Be Creative and Love Anthropologie. Nothing is better in life to work in what you love and do what you love.  Be Creative, Be Yourself.
