Gene Moore was a window dresser for Tiffany's & co for 39 years. And in that time he did over 5000 windows, all of which had pedestrians turning their heads and doing double takes at his whimsical displays. "In cramped confines (Tiffany windows are 3 feet high, 22 inches deep and a maximum 4½ feet across), Moore creates new eye-catching fantasies every two weeks. " (people.com) The display I have pictured below is a watermelon made of gumdrops to showcase the jewels inside the opening slice. He was very creative and always looking for new ways to display things people have already seen. Perhaps his greatest talent was seeing the beauty in ordinary items. Moore says he gets his ideas everywhere: "I show people things they've looked at before but really haven't seen—like dirt. Dirt can be beautiful." (people.com)
