As usual I waited till 12am to do my homework and as usual my technology fails me so I wont have any pictures but I can still give and update:
I am still in the process of drafting the pattern for my elongated maxi skirt and crop top long sleeve shirt.
The shells that im using are coming from cocoa beach which means sometime this week I have to make a trip to the beach ( YEY).
Tomorrow after class my P.I.C Mr. Delgado said he would continue helping me draft my pattern, then after that ill start sewing in one of the construction labs.
I have such a clear vision of what my maxi skirt is going to look like , and I wont be satisfied unless it looks like the picture I've been painting in my head.
I might run into some problems with the shells though only because some of them have natural holes in them and others don't, attempting to puncture them myself may shatter them. Also my fabric DOES NOT STRETCH AT ALL, so movement will be extremely minimal. Cant wait to see finished product my big brain came up with.

I have combed 10 ropes so far, and it is covering front half
of the skirt. Also I bought a material for the top. I bought two materials to
see which one will go better with my rope skirt. One of them has the perfect
color but little bit stretchy, and the other one is not stretchy but the color
is not the one I want. Hope everything will go well ;)

Blog Post 6: Karla V
For blogpost number 6, I went to Target.
1. There is high signage that leads the customer to the display. It has a photograph of the designer along with an example of a set up.
2. I would say the theme is a hyrocliphics type of African theme with the patterns and the golden elephant figure.
3. You can find a range of baskets, pillows, figures, wall fixtures, vases, etc.
4. The wall fixtures are displayed in the graphics and also on the bottom of the shelf.
5. The color story seems to be earth, neutrals, golds, browns, black, tan.

I took this picture of a wall display at Super Target. There is just a small picture with no words to the left side of the wall that serves as a guidance to what is on that wall, the picture is of a part of a living room decorated with some of the items on that wall. The clear theme of the wall is comfort with the use of pillows and blankets, there are also place mats for a table down on the bottom. This wall layout is done using the capacity fixture, it is just made of metal shelves across and merchandise on every inch of it.There is also a clear color story and those are earth tones like blue, brown, white and just a touch of yellow.
This picture was also taken at Super Target by the patio decorations. There is a small sign at the middle of the display with the makers name on it. The theme of the wall is patio with metal tins, flowers, floor mats, bird feeders, baskets, and table decorations such as the white birds or the pumpkins. This is also a capacity fixture with metal shelves and items places in every inch of it. There is also a color story here with earth tones such as browns, golds, but with a touch of bright colors from the flowers.

Ari Naranchimeg: Blog Post #6
This is the Paola Navone’s collection exclusively for
Crate&Barrel
- When you go into the store, the first thing that catches your eye is the fully decorated dining table. The table and the bright light that are pointed at the displays will guide the customers to the wall. They also used an interesting printed background for the wall display, which helps the white shelves to pop-up from the wall. You can even see every type of plates of the collection on the white wall.
- Since they are having a blue and red, I would say the theme is Christmas Dinner for the whole family and friends.
- They showed several different plates, cups, bowls, vases and glasses. Also a wood and aluminum tray, a salad server, knife-spoon-fork set, placemat, tablecloth and a candleholder.
- Floor standing shelves and lights.
- Everything on the display is made from red, blue and white colors.
“The collection is dedicated to many different houses…joyful
and delicate, imaginative and poetic, classic and timeless.”

Blog Post 5- Camille E
For my final project I am using water bottles to make my dress. We have a lot of them away at home and instead of just throwing them away I decided to use them.
I will cut them into long strips and layer them so that some parts are completely see-through and other areas are more opaque. I want my dress to look like something that would be worn by an ice queen so I will also use them to make snowflakes for the display.

Vanessa blog post #5
I have begun to collect braiding hair & can goods for my project. I will be starting on the braiding hair because its most tedious. I am not sure the exact number of braids I will need to cover the bodice but I will like to begin braiding all the hair I have now so I can be ready to collect more from donors and coworkers. The can goods will have a tiny hole made with an owl to be threaded on to the muslin.
