I can't believe our stunning mop dress is finally done!!!! All our hard work and time put into this dress has finally paid off. I have to admit this has been one of the best experience's I have gotten to encounter. Definitely a memory I will forever hold on to, I would do it again any day. The fact that it got to be displayed in Thornton Park at The Falcon Bar was just mind blowing. In addition, everyone else dresses came out extremely amazing, I'm more then happy to say I'm proud of everyone. 😌👏👗

For week 9 we still needed to put the finishing touching on the dress like the laced up back. We mainly had to work on the trees to get them covered sing we had run out of dyed news paper we had to dye some more and wait for it to dry. Early morning on week 9 Heather and I will put the finishing touches on the trees as well with the glitter`

These are picture to what lead our display to Thornton Park. This post is a little late since I totally forgot to upload it with all the stress of the display. As you can see from the picture above, we were working on props to surround the dress. These props were suppose to be mountains of snow that were going to lead in to the formation of the garment.

Our Holiday visual display is finally finished. Our hard work has paid off. Due to the space, we had were required to make a couple of changes though. For example our snow mountain props had to be reduced to snow blankets surrounding the dress. Even though these changes had to take place our display still looks similar to what we envisioned. We were able to finish on time and our display was showcased at Thorton Park.

Creating a Christmas display for my visual merchandise class was a great project; nevertheless, having it displayed at The Thornton Park District Wine and Art Walk, Urban Rethink, was an unforgettable experience. As show above are pictures I took of the finished holiday display made out of WalMart plastic bags and soda cans. I hope you like, Thank You.

We are almost done! from the beginning we have done a lot, now are only a few details left, like the glitter to make the dress shine as when snow is touched by the sun and little things like the materials that go underneath the dress to give it volume and natural movement, like hills of snow, but thats something we are gonna do while building our display. lets do it!
here are some pictures of our progress:

There has been a lot of progress since the last time my team and I have worked on the Christmas visual display for Thornton Park. The picture on the top left was how it looked Tuesday Dec. 4, 2012 and The dress on the bottom left is what my team and I have been working on all week, making and adding all the flowers, which was time consuming. The dress is almost complete; Devon, Marie and I just need to add more flowers on the bottom of the dress to make it look even better and we also need to spread the flowers out. I can't wait to instal the display in a few hours. Working on this display for The Thornton Park Art and Wine Walk has been a great experience.

This experience has been amazing. I can't believe how far we all have come with this dress. We have made so much progress, all we need to do is sew on 2 more layers to the bottom and were done!!! "-D "-D I have helped enormously on this dress. I've helped dyed the mops, to sewing every mop string on the ribbons to attach to the dress. I have also helped sew the zipper and one of the layers on the dress. I'm beyond ecstatic to see the final results and go to the show.- "-) <3 <3

This dress has been such an experience to work on and see actually how it is turning out! It is so exciting! The first picture is how the dress looked on Tuesday during class. Seeing the progress throughout the whole project has been so cool! The two bottom pictures are how it looked by Wednesday evening! The bottom picture is kind of how the fullness is going to look when it is finished, but of course with more rosettes added to it! I've been making more rosettes out of the bags and sewing them on with the batting. I'm also going to be working on one of the props that will be used in the display! I cannot believe we are only four days until installation! Good luck everyone! I can't wait to see all the display's on Tuesday!!

THIS IS THE BEGINNING OF MY PROJECT. I WORKED THE PLASTIC BAG, AND USED SODA CAN TO CREATE THOSE BUTTONS. IT'S VERY DIFFICULT BECAUSE MY FINGER HURT. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND THOSE BAGS. THATS MY MATERIALS.
